反修例運動持續至今已逾兩個月，政府卻一直未有回應民眾的五大訴求。對於有市民自發8月5日全港大罷工，作為香港最大的單一行業工會，教協全力支持8.5罷工。
8月5日當天，教協的4個會所（包括教協總辦事處、
旺角服務中心、銅鑼灣服務中心、將軍澳中心），將會全日關閉。
另外，因應8月3日（本周六）旺角區情況，教協總辦事處、旺角服務中心將全日關閉；銅鑼灣服務中心及將軍澳中心將如常開放。

In response to citywide strike on Aug 5th, all four centers of HKPTU (i.e. Headquarters, Mong Kok Service Centre, Causeway Bay Service Centre, Tseung Kwan O Centre) will be closed on that day. In regards to the situation in Mong Kok on Aug 3rd, HKPTU Headquarters and Mong Kok Service Centre will be closed; while Causeway Bay Service Centre, Tseung Kwan O Centre will open as usual.
